Owl News

P4 has been having a hoot of a time learning all about Owls! We enjoyed a visit from Mike from World of Owls, bringing with him Harvey, who has starred in various films and productions over the years. He also brought a very rare black baby Barn Owl.

In Activity Based Learning, we have been dissecting owl pellets, painting pictures of Plop, the "Owl who was Afraid of the Dark", following instructions to make paper plate owls and investigating flight by making our own "helicopters".

We tested the helicopters to see how size and weight affects speed and rotation. We have also tried making our own nests and created owls from clay.
