End of Year videos 2019-20

Hello, everyone! We’ve made it!
As we close the year, we wanted to share some videos with everyone. These have been made by the staff in relation to specific issues/events, but we wanted everyone to have access, as they reflect the ethos, spirit and personality of our school.
We hope that you and your children will take a few minutes to enjoy them.

We also want to thank our parents and pupils for their resilience and support throughout the year. While always crucial to a successful school, this year presented particular and enormous challenges, so everyone deserves a huge pat on the back – and a refreshing summer break.
Please enjoy and keep an eye on emails and the website for more news about restarting in August/September.

Scripture Union – lockdown assembly
This online assembly is brought to you by AMPS Scripture Union. We are delighted to have contributions from David Murphy and Henry Capper, familiar faces from our school assemblies, who have joined us to share their thoughts from this challenging period. Some of the boys and girls have also shared their favourite verses from the Bible.
Thanks to Miss Cranston for organising this event and putting the video together; and to Mrs Allen, Mrs Bovill and Miss Mahood for their contributions during the year.
We hope you enjoy our message and share our desire to get back together soon!

P1 welcome
Our new P1 pupils are normally welcomed to school in June to meet their teachers, see their new classrooms and meet some of their new classmates. This is always such an important as well as exciting time for both parents and children.
Of course, this year has to be different, so Mrs Bovill and Mrs Knaggs have made their own welcome video – starring RJ…
No more explanation needed, just a reminder that there is more P1 welcome information accessible via the special tab in the ‘Parents’ section of the website.

The Lion King
Our school is so proud of its end of year events, none more so than the annual School Play. This year, we were all set to perform the Lion King, with the P7 children having been assigned their roles and already practising hard before lockdown. The disappointment for the children will take a long time to wane, so Mrs Bovill, assisted by Mrs Ambrose and Mrs Knaggs, produced this special reminder. We must also thank Mrs Martin for all her preparation work and casting – she was so looking forward to directing the show. However, we promise to be back!
The video begins with one we made for our last school tweet before closure, hence the signed polo shirts and lack of social distancing!

P7 Leavers’ Yearbook
Our P7 leavers are the year group that have missed out on so much due to lockdown. However, in keeping with our whole school PERMA theme of positivity, we’ve done our best to create meaningful and happy memories for the children to ‘take away’, beyond those they had already made during their time at Andrews.
With our thanks to our P7 teachers, Miss Alexander and Mr Sandford, for compiling these memories and producing the video, we sign off on the 2019-20 school year; wishing all these wonderful AMPS Ambassadors a healthy and enjoyable summer, as well as a bright and successful future at their new schools.
Au revoir P7!
